WP6: Demonstrators and Data Dissemination

Objectives

  • Test the concepts developed in the other WPS
  • Collect feedback from test users and forecasters

Tasks

Task 6.0: Coordination of WP6
The coordination task assures the timely progress of the work and organizes workshops and phone conferences to monitor and optimize the progress among the involved teams. It is responsible for the co-operation with the project management in WP1 in the form of regular progress reporting and preparation of the deliverables according to the agreed schedule.

Task 6.1: Selection of suitable partners for testing  probabilistic winter precipitation forecast
Based on results of surveys presented in WP4, two user groups are selected for research demonstrations.  In identification of the user group's representatives for testing, aim is to get representatives of different geographical areas and user applications, and a gender analyses is performed in order to assure gender balance.

Task 6.2: First research demonstration of prototype of probabilistic winter precipitation forecast
One of the demos is made offline. During the project, a prototype of probabilistic winter precipitation forecast will be demonstrated. This task will take care of practical organization: getting permits, organizing the data transfer, training users, ensuring that needed documentation is available. Results of the prototype are presented to selected user groups. In identification of the user group's representatives for testing, gender analyses is performed in order to assure gender balance.

Task 6.3: Second research demonstration of prototype of probabilistic winter precipitation forecast
One of the demonstrations is made available online.  During the project, a prototype of probabilistic winter precipitation forecast will be demonstrated. This task will take care of practical organization: obtaining permits, organizing the data transfer, training users, ensuring that needed documentation is available. Results of the prototype are presented to selected user groups. When identifying the user group's representatives for testing, gender analyses is performed in order to assure gender balance.

Task 6.4: Publications
Task 6.4 coordinates the publication of the results from tasks 6.1 to 6.3 in refereed scientific journals and during scientific conferences suitable for the addressed topics
