Hybrid Workshop on Tools for Impacts and Risks Induced by Severe Weather
We warmly welcome you to participate the second end-user workshop organized by the TAMIR project on tools for management of impacts and risks induced by severe weather with special emphasis on floods. The workshop is targeted to experts from European Emergency Response and Civil Protection Agencies, Water Authorities and Hydrometeorological Services. The workshop will be organized as hybrid on 4th – 5th May, 2022, and the physical meeting is at Finnish Meteorological Institute, Helsinki, Finland.
The first workshop was organized online in October 2020, where we gathered end-user feedback and improvement suggestions, which were used to guide the development of the TAMIR products and tools.
This second workshop now aims to:
- Promote the products and tools for prediction and nowcasting of hazards and impacts induced by severe weather developed in the TAMIR project;
- Promote and enable hands-on testing of new tools for the prediction and nowcasting of heavy precipitation, multi-hazards of storms and flooding;
- Be a platform for networking between end users, providers and developers of the tools and services.
The discussions and feedback gathered during the workshop will be used to assess the final products, to identify gaps for future development, and are collected into a project report to be delivered to the funding organization, European Union Civil Protection.

The workshop is free of charge. In the case, you would like to participate to the physical meeting in Helsinki, Finland, we have the opportunity to cover the accommodation and travel costs of a limited number of participants. Please indicate your wish in the registration and we will contact you by email with more details. This travel support is reserved for European end - users representing either civil protection agencies or water authorities and hydrometeorological services.
